Status of 4.2.4

Hello vTiger community,

i was browsing the svn-repository to find out about the changes made in 4.2.4 up to now. There seems to be stagnation in this branch since the 5th of May. Can we conclude that 4.2.4 is essentially ready and coming up ?

regards

  • i'm curious too. this started off with a lot of momentum and sort of fizzled out. will this branch be continued?

    regards,
  • you can conclude that's it's ready, as for upcoming i can't say. as far as i can tell no one is working on it or testing it anymore and it's ready to go.

i'm not sure what's holding it up, i think the problem is the maintainer seems to have disappeared and the vtiger core team isn't paying any attention to requests to move ahead with the release.

if you have the technical knowledge i would just check 4.2.4 out of svn and create your own release, i don't see anything changing between now and the eventual release.

brianlaughlin, lots of work has been done on the branch after 4.2.4 was branched to incorporate various user contributions and 4.2.5 should offer lots on improvements and added features.
  • since it seems that the 4.2.4 is then "officially" ready is someone willing to work out a patching system to update my current 4.2.4 with all the patches aka 4.2.3 to this version...or should everyone check out for them selves what they are missing from the svn? i would really want to update it, hopefully the new office plugin will work finally then <!-- s:) --><img src="{smilies_path}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="smile" /><!-- s:) -->
  • browsing the source, i recognized that the version 4.2.4 is completed!?

where can i download that release? why isn't it announced at the homepage?
  • there has been some talk about the release of 4.2.4 on the developers list, and i think allan is getting very close.

hold on for a few and i think you will see it.
