Hi everyone,
The 4.2.4 release is almost ready, it just needs a bit of testing. The changes can be viewed in the Subversion revision log.
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://vtiger.fosslabs.com/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/log/vtigercrm/branches/4.2?rev=3947&stop_rev=3603&verbose=on">http://vtiger.fosslabs.com/cgi-bin/trac ... verbose=on</a><!-- m -->
Thank you everyone who helped make this release possible: Richie & vtiger team, fathi, aissa, jeffk, allanbush, mmbrich, brianD, mikecrowe, Kleo, mickie, mjsdev, jisaitua & kiang.
Right now the only database changes between 4.2.3 and 4.2.4 are a few additional indexes to allow several Foreign Keys to insert properly during installation. This will help fix the "partial tables" problem during install.
If you are upgrading, then remove all files from your vtiger install except for config.php and replace it with the files from the new release.
There are three archive formats available: tar.bz2(7.6MB), tar.gz(8.5MB) and zip(11MB)
As with any update, make sure you backup your database before trying this or any update.

do we have to use the backup procedure " migrating database from version 4.2 to version 4.2 + patch 2" at <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.vtiger.com/wiki/index.php/vtiger_crm_-_database_migration_procedure">http://www.vtiger.com/wiki/index.php/vt ... _procedure</a><!-- m -->
or do we have to wait for a specific one to update 4.2.3 to 4.2.4 database?
thank you,
clement
just a thought.

when testing the 4.2.4 version, i notice that quotes are simply lost after saving them.
any quick solution for this?
thanks,
rudi.
these issue was already fixed. you can see the resolution here: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://vtiger.fosslabs.com/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/ticket/48">http://vtiger.fosslabs.com/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/ticket/48</a><!-- m -->
keep posting bugs that you found!

the migration issue hasn't been addressed, but you can use the sql in the link below to update a 4.2.2 (patch2) installation to the 4.2.3 database structure:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://forums.vtiger.com/viewtopic.php?p=18601#18601">http://forums.vtiger.com/viewtopic.php?p=18601#18601</a><!-- m -->
the database structure in 4.2.4rc2 is the same as 4.2.3 except for adding a few indexes to the database.
there are enough fixes in 4.2.4rc2 already that i don't think we should wait to create a smart migration process that updates from 4.2.0, 4.2.1, 4.2.2 and 4.2.3 like i want to do. it'll be in the next release though.

does anyone know the solution to this?

it would be nice to have the reason why & how to solve it.
thanks,
rudi.
when re-opening quotes for a price update, the system gives an error that the calculated total is wrong and mentions nan, which i assume is not a number.
does anyone have a quick solution for this? i assume it has something to do with either not stripping tags or with local settings (decimal point vis a vis decimal comma) conflicting with the calculation?
is there anyone that knows the code well enough to know where to look for it?
thanks,
rudi.
philip has made the binary installers for rc2. please give them a try and report.
