Product Categories...

When adding a new product there is a drop down for the product categories but there does not seem to be any tool for editing or adding to this list. Is there an edit/append script fot this or should I just use myCC and add it all in manually.     hello,

    by default we are providing the following product categories:

    hardware
    software
    crm applications

    you can add/modify the product category drop-down list items from the settings -->studio -->pick list settings --> product pick lists --> product category--> settings: products pick list edit page.

    stupid question, but can anyone explain what you can use product categories for?

    searching only?

    anybody found a good use for these??

    anybody have any luck adding additional methods to the soap customerportal.php file and modifying the portal module files to show a product category two-step dependency list?
