OK, so I migrated using the existing database

first couple of attempts it times out or gave a server error message
finally I got a migration but only partially:

At the top I received the following error messages

failed for: Accounts, uitype: 1Migration Query Failed failed fo init
failed for: Users, fieldtypeid: 3Migration Query Failedd

Unzip2: ZIP File is corrupted or empty

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/xxxxx/public_html/crmv/vtlib/Vtiger/PackageImport.php on line 124
dUnzip2: ZIP File is corrupted or empty

dUnzip2: ZIP File is corrupted or empty

Then  504 ==> 510rc Database changes -- Starts.

a bunch of failed SQL queires - so can somebody advise what packages did not inflate and how I get them fixed ? can I just override the files with a 5.1 full download ?

So far I have only found this thread http://forums.vtiger.com/viewtopic.php?t=25624&highlight=settings+icons which talks about server requirements etc. however I meet all of the server requirements so it cannot be a server issue

Hi smegrowth,

We are not able to reproduce the issue, i think this wiki link will help you out. http://wiki.vtiger.com/index.php/Vtiger510

Have you tried migration more than once on the same database ?? this might also cause issue to you, so better try migration one more time on the fresh data base.

Note: Before starting with the migration take a dump of your source and database.

Hi,

I had the same problem as you. Instead of to dump a complete intall of vtiger5.1 I used the upgrade package and migrated the database, then I could see the icons on Settings and the links worked fine. But my problem now is that when I go to any of the modules in Settings, the menu on the left It doesn't work. Similar problem as you have on Top Setting module. I attach an image of Roles Settings.

I try to upgrade a 5.04 version to 5.1. The 5.04 version is a copy of a portal runing on Linux. I try to upgrade on Windows machine

Hi pezpc,

The issue which you are facing is clearly says that by mistake your migration gone twice. That is why it is showing all the settings menu twice.

Try migration one more time on a fresh database, if your database size is quite big then don't try the backup option as mysql will time out.

For migration from Linux 504 to windows 510 you can go through this documentation.

http://wiki.vtiger.com/index.php/vtiger510:Migration

If you still face any issue, get back yo us.[/url]

Hi,

I have tried the migration again with a copy database of our live vtiger504 on a new installation of vtiger510. Again the same problem. It seems like if some of the migration scripts are executde more than once. I attach an image of the home tab, modules key metrics and Dashboard are twice.

Where can I check in the database if records are duplicated?

Thanks

I'm still having problems.....

I rebuilt the original 5.0.4 install and everything was working as before.

I then created a new UTF8 general_cti db as described.
Uploaded the migration script.
Imported the old 5.0.4 data into the new database.
Ran the migration script and entereted in the new db and admin details.

Then I ran the FIX database to convert to the old data in the new database and the script has now been running for approximately 3 hours and is still saying "Please Wait".

I checked the new database and the data has been / is being updated but the updated has still not completed and I dont have that much data (I think) so why is it taking so long or why does the script not complete ?

OK, so I stopped the pre migration script and went back a step / page and then process to the pre migration page again

this time the page does not say the tables are in the wrong format

if I then proceed with the migration I get an internal server 500 error message

this is very frustrating and I think its scrip failing to complete at the premigration stage that is causing all the problems - how can I resolve this ?

is it some data in the database that is causing this or something else ?
