vtiger CRM 5.0.4 validation testbuild II

Hi vtigers,

First we thank you all for the great support you have provided to us in the validation of the vtigerCRM 5.0.4 test build. We kindly request you to provide us with the same help in the validation of the vtigerCRM 5.0.4 test build II.

In this build we have focussed mainly on the security issues to avoid the sql injection attacks. For this we have changed most of the SQL statements to Prepared Statements. Some of the other major issues that we have addressed are as follows:

1. Selective Export of Records
2. Import/Export functionalities for Trouble Tickets & Vendors module
3. Outgoing Server configuration with Gmail SMTP
4. UTF-8 support for WebMail
5. FTP Backup Script Fix
6. Migration Support
7. HTML Based E-mail Templates
8. Role based PickList

and many more (Refer the Release Notes)

Kindly post your valuable feedbacks and suggestions to us.

NOTE: This is a development build released only for testing purposes and not meant to be used in production.

  • the e-mail templates in the admin section have got a option to make the new template you make either public or private.

but as you have to be an admin to make one, only admins can have their own custom made templates in the private folder.

    or have i missed something?
  • hi audiopleb,

you are right. only admin has the ability to mark an email template as private or public.

few of the use cases i could think with this feature are:
    1. create email template drafts and make it available to all once it is complete.
    2. mark obsolete email templates a private.

  • i would have thought a much better idea would be to have everyone able to create templates so that each individual can create their own e-mail signature which they would mark as private.
  • hi audiopleb,

great! we would like to provide such features going forward.

  • excellent! are you going to add it to trac as an enhancement request?

  • hi well fighting vtiger team! how ever it seem to be some utf-8 problem as mentioned above. i note the following when i testing the wip 5.0.4.

if add a new contact or what ever and first manually tells my browser (firefox) to use iso8859-1 and the keys in "å ä ö å ä ö ü ü ßß" in all fields and then press save then all is ok!!

but.. if i use the standard setting utf-8 that vtiger tells the browser to use it all messes up...

hope you can fix this rapidly and upload a new wip installation. otherwise i'm afraid that many tester/user will wondering whats happening. and search some where else to find a crm-system.

    regards
    /johan

    other modules are running fine.
