Hello guys,
You don't know us, but we know you Or at least me and my team has been using vtiger for about two years now, and actively developing an internal, very specialized automotive industry CRM based on it.
We are a team of 4-6 developers based in Budapest, Hungary. I'm Kristof Kovacs, lead developer of the team.
When we started our development two years ago (we started on the 5.0.2 version), we unfortunately made a few design decisions and code modifications early on that diverged our tree too far from the official vtiger development branches, causing us tremendous headaches (we had to fix bugs that were already fixed in the official development too, making too deep changes, etc). We regretted diverging too much. This time it's different.
Now we are starting a "re-design from the ground up" of this system, and since we already have a working a system (so, our target is different from a newcomer's, who needs a running system quickly), we decided to start on the new alpha version, 5.1, and this time we will keep our development tree in sync with your repository. This way we will also be able to contribute to the community too (instead of being "silent" developers), which I'm very much looking forward to!
Kristof
