Help mapping picklist field lead to potential

"Sorry, you can cannot map fields with different character size. Kindly map the data with same or more character size."

This is the error message I am getting. I created a picklist in Leads, mapped it to one in Accounts, but I can't seem to get it to map to the one I did in Potentials. It seems exactly the same! Help?     i am having the exact same issue trying to map a custom picklist in leads to a custom picklist in contacts. can anyone help here?

    make sure both fields in both modules are set to mandatory or not - i had this issue and found that in one module the field was set to mandatory while the same field in the other module was not.
