Hey all,
I am really liking vtiger and I'm trying to use it to the fullest to ensure it's what I want to use for a crm.
My outlook and thunderbird plugins are working fine but today I installed the office word plug-in and it will not work!
I've done the following:
-tried to connect to the online demo http://vtigercrm.com/demo/
-tried connecting to my local server http://localhost/
-uninstalled and reinstalled
-created new admin user and tried that login
I keep getting the "cannot connect to server"
arrraaaahhh!
please help with your thoughts.

I experienced the same problem. Using a network sniffer I discovered that you must use the address http://www.vtiger.com/products/crm/demo/ because the old page forwards you and it seems that the plugin doesn't follow the forwarding.
I configured the address mentioned above and used admin/admin to login and it is working.

| Well, I tried as well to connect to the demo installation at vtiger site and I'm getting the same error that it can't connect. As well, I tried to connect to two different vtiger installation and I can't connect to any of them. |

| Perhaps your firewall is blocking. I had simelar problems while my personal firewall Zonelabs was running. I disabled it without any success. Than I switched it off and was able to connect. I did not look for the cause (ports & protocols used). Any expert out there who knows Soap well enough to tell us what is going on when the plugin trys to communicate? |

| Well, might be that it's a fw issue but in my case I've tried to connect to a vtiger installation on the local LAN and it just won't work (Win fw disabled as well). |

| You might switch on the debugging mode at your vtiger installation. Goto log4php.properties.php and change the FATAL to DEBUG in line 38. Than check your log files in /log an see what you get. |

| Okey, I'll give this a try duing the start of the week; late now and we have election here in Sweden tomorrow so big day that will take up the entire day. |

Well, right then, came around to test again and as well attached parts of the soap.log file; I don't know what to look for and can't say that I see anything that screams error. So guess I need some help here.
For thoose of you that god this plugin working; are you running the vtiger installation on a dedicated server or are you running the installation as vhost under Apache? |
