We are pleased to announce the vtiger CRM 5.0 Beta release. This release portrays the developments done after vtiger CRM 5.0 Alpha series. In this release we have mainly concentrated on the quality front and have fixed most of the major bugs that were in the prior releases. We have also made a revamp of the Inventory, Migration, Email and Calendar modules. Enhancements have been made in the usability front and some of the features will have a new face. Since the installation I tried was on the latest XAMPP ( 1.53a with MySQL > 5.0.19), '3confirmConfig.php' had to be edited .

In Step4, "The installation will take at leat 4 minutes.." is not true if you are making a vTiger Virtual Machine as I did. It will not even take ONE minute!

I'm impressed, it looks really working fine. Hope it will be stable in production use.
One important feature is missing, it was discussed in earlier posts: the possibility to add products on the fly in quotes for service companies. My products are not standards, and a lot of quotes cannot be done in vtiger.
And I have to say... I don't understand how Campaign works. Is there a faq or a howto? I just want to send a personalized email based on a search in contacts.

To continue, perhaps you could also add the ability to remove users and contacts from scheduled meetings and calls (you can add several users and contacts in the 'More information' tag, but you can not remove them!).

PHP 5.0.19 ??

In the first page for installation. It mentioned ...

vtiger CRM 5.0 Beta is tested on mySQL 4.1.X, mySQL 5.0.19, PHP 5.0.19 and Apache 2.0.40

I've created two custom fields(LeadsText & LeadsNumber) for leads module in the demo. It is working fine. Shall I know to which module you have created the custom fields? or How to reproduce the issue?. So that it will be helpful for me to fix the issue.
