vtiger

[Frustrated]

Now that I have it installed and starting to learn it, I have thought of something that would be extremely useful.

I don't know if it has been suggested already, or even if the feature is available (I am still going through the user manual).

What I would like is the option on the page of launching a new window either by button or link, or even as part of the submit process. The new window (or even some form of integration, background screen scrape type thing...) would be a call to my own web pages/technology to act upon certain things...

Say, I have an interactive website, naturally, it would use a totally different database, and I sell subscriber space... I would like a way to get the details from the CRM into my own database rather than having a scheduled task to do a copy or human copy and paste.

An example that I could do is to have an interim page that vtiger calls that will collect the data (based on parameters passed in the call) and drop it into my own database. The page that CRM calls could be as simple as a pop-up confirmation or something as complex as copying data into multiple systems.

What I don't want to do though is to re-write the vtiger code, only to lose my changes on the next upgrade. I think it should be a core item/function.
