I've been using vT for a few months now and I really like it. However, nothing is perfect and I would like to put a couple of suggestions out for discussion.

I would like it if it would be easier to create and send email from the Account screen rather than having to do this ONLY from a specific contact. I think it would be more efficient if it were possible to start an email from the Account screen and have some sort of list of all the contacts that would allow for multiple selections, or have the ability to manually enter an e-mail address for the times when a formal contact doesn't apply, such as support@website.com or info@website.com. This would make it easy to send an e-mail to more than one person in the company. I would also prefer if all email sent to anyone at an Account be listed on the Account page.

Make it easy for the user to set which fields will be displayed. For example, I don't use the birthday, SIC codes, or annual revenue fields. I'd like to get rid of them as it's a bit of a time waster to tab through them.

Give users the ability to choose the tab order of the fields. The default setup is not the most efficient.

Keep up the good work. :D

Let me know if you'd like to sponsor these changes.

This can be done already by changing the field accessability setting in a profile. Login as admin and check it out.

The first step is to just give them a logical order, and then making it customizable should be reevaluated to see if it is needed.

What's involved with sponsoring?

Worked GREAT. Thank you very much for your help.

The only problem there is that what's logical for me may not be logical for someone/anyone else. Both are valid needs. The only solution is to give users the ability to set the tab order. However, now that I've learned how to get rid of unneeded fields, tabbing through the page is loads faster.

Thanks again for your help. :D

Paying for development of course. I recommend you post a detailed specification of the changes you want and how much money you are willing to add to a bounty for it to be done. When there has been enough money pledged a developer will step up to do the work.

You're welcome. :)

Sure it should be customizable. Everything should be customizable and it is at one point or another (with editing the code). But there can be a point of too much customizability and I don't want vtiger to get there. It ends up overcomplicated.

I say to put them in a logical order and see because they're all set to the same order number currently. The code leaves it up to the browser to choose which field is next in the tab order. Adding some logical ordering before adding a bunch of customizability is easier and may just solve the problem.

You're right about that, keeping it simple is one of the best features about vT, and there's no way to be "all things for all people". KISS KISS KISS.

Cheers,
