Custom fields in activities

Hi all,
I'm new to vtiger,but seems that a lot of work made to bring us a very customable system.
however, when I saw the custom fields option, I glad but I notice that there is no cf for events (activities & tasks ) using ver 4.2

there isa patch that include this allready ? or could you tell me some directions of how to add (which tables,pages) fields for myself?
