As the title says, this is a *beginning* stages of a Clean Business theme. This is my 1st attempt at a them for vTiger. Please bear with me.


Here is a screen shot of it. I started with the blue theme, but you could change the colors with the style sheet to match your likings.



It will have a vertical menu system, where the submenu isn't showing unless you're in that category/module.

There are tons of things I still need to do with this, mainly write it more in PHP and not HTML, but for now, you will see where I am headed, and can guide me with suggestions.

Things I am aware of that are not perfect, or even working:

The World Clock and Calculator will be on the left side under the menu. I haven't added them yet.

The left side will have the New Record field in it, it's currently not there.

The order I will be putting things in as far as the left field will be

Menu
New Record
Clock
Calculator


I have tested this in FireFox, and a little in IE. I can't guarantee anything in any browser.

The Last Viewed breadcrumb trail will be added to the right of the Welcome area.

The menu system uses cookies to remember which menu you were last on. This is sometimes helpful, but I am not sure I like it, so the Cookie part might be coming out. What are your suggestions?

Anyway, this is the first stage. Please install it and let me know what you think. The more suggestions, the better the theme.

this is great! menus don't stay open after you click on parent though. (firefox)

Yes, that is one of the things I am currently working on. The menu system uses cookies to remember which button you last clicked, I am trying to take that out, and have it stay open when you click it.

Other than that, what else would you change/like to see in it?

Jamie, I am not undermining your effort by getting you in touch with Mike. Rather, I just wanted you to get in touch with people who have been working on a similar aspect/subject.
So, please do not misunderstand. Your work and Mike's work hold their own individual importance.

I want you all to know that we really do appreciate your contributions. We would really like to see them integrated into the product.

I know you are not undermining anything. You are just helping make vTiger a better product.

I did speak to Mike about the menu systems before I started, and he interested in helping, but did say he had a ton of other commitments right now, so I thought I would jump in and see what I could do.

Mike has offered some great Mod's and the chance to work with him would be very nice.

Appreciate your understanding.

Then, I guess, go ahead and make the theme complete.
I believe, there are certain functionalities that are in a not so complete state, so if you could finish those off, we could integrate the themes.

Moreover,we are coming up with an updated repository process by which
we could further streamline the process.

Theme looks good. If you are looking for more suggestions.. when you mouseover menu items, the color contrast is tough to see (dark blue/black text)

I think this is defintly the way vtiger needs to go with meuning though.

Ok, i have added the missing Invoice tab, and I have gotten the images on the Reports Tab to show up correctly.

The problem I am having now is the menu system is repeating itself on the left column.

Can anyone tell me why it would be doubling, when it's only in the code once? I am missing something, I just can't put my finger on it.

Anyone want to take a guss and help out?

OK, here is an Updated version of the Clean Business theme.

A friend of mine worked on this and got the menu working with the other tabs on the Left Column.

The Invoice Tab has been added.

The missing images on the Reports page have been fixed.

The Call and Meetings are still not working, the vTiger team is looking into this for me, and hopefully they will be able to offer us a fix. The way vTiger is set up, you currently view all your Calls and Meetings on one page. I was use to using another application that separate them out by the Call or by the Meeting. I make a lot of Calls and have a lot of Meetings, so that format works better for me, since I would have pages and pages of Calls/Meetings if they were on the same page.

So those links still do not work.

What is left to do....

1. Move the Last Viewed to the Right where the Submenu was. Just to the right of the Welcome screen.

2. Fix the cookies on the menu so it will not remember where you last were.

3. Have this theme tested out in many browser's for compatibility.


I you can see of think of anything else that this theme needs, or that needs to be fixed, please let me know.
