Hi, we have gone through the usual cycle of evaluating everything that moves to finally end up with vtiger as what we'll use - partly because one of our business partner companies uses it as well.
We have a group of 5 people that will use it, but there is a potential that we'll maybe give everyone access (30 people or so) so that client calls can always be answered with at least a sensible amount of understanding - we'll just define a very restricted access role for that.
We have a test system up, and this afternoon we'll move that into working on https exclusively. I downloaded the admin manual from lulu so I'll have some grip on what it does, and I just noticed someone interfaced it with WebERP which may help us with other things we're trying to solve.
Key question: we would like to know what is the support we need to buy. If that is based on actual registered users we'll leave the other people out, if we can buy a 10 user pack (i.e. 5 users plus the expected margin) and leave the restricted set on the site I'd prefer to do that. I also need to know what is involved in expanding that count because we are starting to acquire more staff, we'll run out of 10 users Q1 2009 (probably before, depends on HR).
I note your support is business hours in India so we'll need to work out how this works with our support staff (as far as I can see it means getting them out of bed early, which may offer some challenges ). As a criticism I would offer that your terms actually offer no SLA whatsoever, not in response nor in availability (other than India business hours and excluding Indian public holidays) - you define terms like service pack, workarounds etc but do not use them in the actual terms of the agreement. For reference, I read "1 business day acknowledgement via email" as a daily email cron job .
I'm sure you'll do better than that, but the raw terms as stated are, umm, in need of improvement if you want that to come out :).
Last Q: are you aware of any companies that presently host vTiger in Switzerland? For a variety of reasons (data protection & privacy) we are not able to host a service in any other country, but so far I have not found anyone.
Well, back to the grind :) |
