|
|
I have recently signed up with siteground, they installed Vt 5.04 for me. I haven't migrated from my local VT5.03 system yet. I have a question I probably should have asked before I signed up, but here I am. The question is: How do you apply a Patch? Let's say I want to install TimeTickets, how (with siteground) do I do it? Or can I? Do I have to pay them to do it? I saw someone this morning use a demo of Ubuntu to do this for a windows system. Would that also work and then just ftp the changed files? I am not really up on how diff files and patches work.
Thanks for any suggestions! |

Hi Ed,
You are correct. You have to patch the files on your local system and upload the modified files. Andrew's idea of using a live CD is the best idea I have seen until now, albeit using tortoise isn't that difficult.

Hi Joe
I briefly looked at tortois and at first look it does look not so hard.
Thanks
