I am new to vTiger - Can multiple users share one database? If so, how many users? How and where do I set of the file location on multiple computers? All PC's are either Win XP or Vista OS's
Thanks |

Don -
vTiger is something you'd set up on a web server that all computers could access via your network. The database and vTiger files would all be on that server. The users would point their web browsers at the server and be able to log in at that point to the same database as everyone else.
I don't know how many users you're limited to, though. My guess is you don't have to worry about hitting a limit.
Hope that helps. Someone correct me if I am misguided.

Colin is definitely right.
You set up the vtiger on one machine, which will act as a server - yes, it can be a WinXP or a Vista pc (altough I *personally* would not reccomend that environment for a multiple user vtigerCRM) - .
The chosen machine will then have mysql, php and apache installed.
Anybody will be able to access and use vtiger using his browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, ...) as it were a normal website.
There will be *one* mysql database, no matter how many vtiger users.
Ciao

| It works like a website wherein you type the URL but in this case it can be limited within your company only. Yes you definitely can access it with multiple users. |

Hello. I'm a rookie at all of this but can I conclude that that multiple users with different login's can access vTiger at the same time?
THE CHALLENGE: We would only have 3 users but two would always be remote via laptops. Looking at "GoToMyPC" and "LogMeIn" as a way for the two remote users to get our server and to vTiger. Not sure if this remote access method supports more than one user at a time though.
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Starman, we work Vtiger on remote users all the time. my company has several home office employees as well several salesmen on the road everyday. We installed Vtiger in a hosted webserver, and we access it through one sub-domain. In this way, everybody is "Syncronized" with each other work and the work flows smoths and effortlessly nomatter where they are. At anytime, several users can be looged in at the same time. My suggestion for you is to install it on a hosted web server and in this way you do not need to use "GoToMyPC" and "LogMeIn". Just connect to Internet byt any mean available(Public wireless, modem, broadband, cellular, etc) and type your server address(i.e.: http://vtiger.yourdomain.com) and anyone in your organization is connected and working on Vtiger.
Hope this helps. |

hi, my name is hairi. I'm totally new to this application. Just stated using this app about two weeks.
My question is how do i share this app with my sales team without having a server/web server/etc. All of us having notebooks (mobile) and from the sales dept. |

hairichick, vtiger is an application which runs on a server like environment. If you want to use it with your team you will need a server.
You may use services from members of this community which reaches from installation support to hosting or even application service providing. None of these services are expensive. |
