Hi folks,
I installed my very first test version 5.0.4 RC using PHP Version 5.2.0-8+etch10 with MySQL 4.1.12 and the installation ran without a hitch. Infact I was very impressed with the ease of installation.
I have installed on a shared hosting environment so I have no access to the .ini files so I am hoping that this can be solved.
I later did a fresh install 5.0.4 - fresh upload, fresh MySQL database - using PHP 5.2.0-8+etch10 with MySQL 4.1.21 and am having trouble. The installation runs fine up until the Database Generation stage. The installation wizard goes straight to the finished screen in about two seconds, no time for that value added cuppa coffee. I assume it partially created the database tables as I was unable to login using the admin login. I then attempted to reset the password as discussed in the forum. I then got an error - MySQL: "Cannot delete or update a parent row: a foreign key constraint fails"...did I miss something? If anyone can offer advise or a solution, would greatly be appreciated...
On another note, 5.0.4 rc impressed me in a big way...I do have a suggestion of SMS functionality...syncML is great but an SMS reminder and marketing module would really aid sales teams on the road...also WAP or PDA functionality would be a great winner...thanx for a great job all on the vTiger team... |

Have noticed that it creates the database tables, but doesn't seem to populate tables and foreign key issues make it difficult to drop, edit ect....is any one else having these issues?
decided to go with 5.0.4 rc, seems to be fine on a fresh installation...? I have noticed some foreign key issues in the database when installing 5.0.4. Not to clued up on db, so decide to go with the devil I know... |
