I would like to have an e-mail notification sent out to the assigned to user similar to that of when Potentials are entered or modified. My assumption is that since this code already "exists" a porting should be somewhat easy (except for me...I'm not a programmer).

Hi,

PeaceWorks and TSolucio are working on an autoemail module that will accomplish this among other features. Peaceworks donated the working code for vtigerCRM 4.2 and TSolucio has already started the upgrade with PeaceWorks help. We plan to have this operative around the start of June.
This is part of an email discussion that took place a few days ago on the developers list and the autoemail project is already on the forge.
I would propose that you give your $100 to PeaceWorks, they deserve it.

Hi Asha,

We have setup the new code on the svn so you can get the files and database changes there. At the moment there isn't anything functional but we are aiming at having something to see by the end of next week.
After that we will go over the goals of the project and integrate it fully into vtigerCRM 5.0.4 which should take us to the end of May.

I have no idea why the main page of the project does not reflect the uploads we have already done on the svn forge. If you browse the svn you can see the code.
I will keep informed and try to get some news posts on the forge project.

BTW: The news section on the main page of the forge does not update. It hasn't changed for a LONG time and I (at least) have posted news. Maybe you could have a look at this problem along with the SVN count on the forge projects.

I have attached a simple customization over vtiger 5.0.4 which will send a notification mail to assigned user when a new lead is created or the assigned owner is changed (only from the create/edit view)
