Vanilla install of Customer Portal v 5.0.4 will throw a 500 Server Error on some servers i.e. BlueHost.
The problem is that the file permissions in the customer portal root are set as 0664. This is unacceptable to some hosts like Bluehost.
The resolution is to change the permissions to 0644.
A simple fix to a problem you may really struggle with because the 500 server error is such a general fault. Hope this is helpful to the community. |
