How to associate emails

I think that I am missing something really simple. How do I associate an email with lets say an account. I dont see where to do that. I have my email settings configured properly and can recieve and send emails ok. But when I click and view a recieved email I dont see where I can link it to an account. Also if I take a look at an account details and go to more information I can see an button that says add email. Is this where it is supposed to happen? When I click on the button it just opens up a new window and displays as though I am trying to compose a new email.

Here is text from a FAQ that I found:

Ans:To give you a brief about Emails in vtiger CRM, 1You can use the Email function here to send mails to your Accounts, Contacts, Leads or Users. 2You can store Email templates once you create them using the Settings Module>Email templates. 3Another fact is, you can store the sent mail as an Activity History under the respective category, eg. Contacts/Leads etc. 4Apart from these, you can manage your emails with options to delete, compose, forward email functions.

Does this mean that I can only associate sent mails with my accounts and not recieved mail?
