Most Password screens out there on the net have an option if you forgot your logon details to get a password reset or your password mailed to a (<g> of course) outside account.
Wouldn't that be handy for those of use who get at the age of forgetting?

| The users password is stored at the CRM encrypted. Therefore, there is no way to recover it and send it to an user. I my opinion for security reasons this is a good approach. In any case, the admin can set a new password for any user if the old password got lost. |

We agree on the better security this way.
However, (sheepishly <g>) what about an administrator losing the password (or worse the administrator getting lost because of an illness or accident him- or herself .....).
I prospose at least an option on the screen: Password Forgotten? (as almost every other system it does) which explains this and with the administrator's contact details and perhaps an automated reset request send to the administrator's (special) mailbox etc.
Which <g> does not solve the administrator losing the password but at least makes it more transparant and easier for the enduser.
BTW ... what happens if the administrator's password is changed by some virus or system failure and the administrator has no way to recover it?

If you Administrator looses the admin PW, get a new Administrator ;-)
But seriously, you can reset the admin PW. You will find instructions e.g. here: http://wiki.vtiger.com/index.php/Developers_How_To%27s#How_to_reset_password
or at the users manual |

Thanks once again ...
Might mean I need to replace myself .... and in the case the administrator gets lost he or she may need to be replaced anyway. But that would not solve the problem.
But have looked at your link and it appears (did not test it) to be a solution for that kind of situations. As said, thanks for the answer and link.
