I will need some help, from VTiger team the most, of how to proceed with this.

Here's is my situation. I got VTiger 5.02 installed and with some modification on the core functions and with a lot of new fields on the database (custom the most) to better adapt to the needs of my sales and marketing team.

One of those needs was fulfilled in VTiger 5.04 and now I would like to update but only in one specific module, the Campaigns.

The question is how to do this without affecting the whole 5.02 version?

Hi,

If it is required to have only one specific feature from 5.0.4RC in 5.0.2, just integrate the source code of the feature from 5.0.4RC to 5.0.2. The effort involved here will be a bit high, but this will be the stable approach.

However this seems to a work around and in the longer run, not upgrading to the latest version of vtigerCRM will not be beneficial. So we will advise that it will always be good to invest effort in migrating to the latest version than putting efforts to add features from the latest versions into the previous versions.

Thanks for the reply.

I agree that upgrading always to the latest version is the best approach always, but I had to modify some core functions (dashboard,accounts,adding some others) to work with the current needs of the company here (their primary business is on copiers and everything is more complex that it seems).

I believe is normal adding changes to a CRM since this does happens even with SAP.

I'm trying to modify the campaigns module to add this feature and if you have more info of where more to do it, please let me know.
