Hi, I'm trying various methods of getting the Outlook Plugin 5.0.3 to talk to one particular vTiger server.

For this server, when I click 'Login' on the outlook vTiger plugin window, it gives me the message 'unable to access the vtiger u r l' (followed by the URL I am using). However, when I use the same vTiger Outlook Plugin on the same windows machine and connect to two other vTiger servers, it works ok - no such error message at all.

This URL works fine for normal web browser access to the server.



I turned off the windows firewall to see if that helps, but it didn't.

Is there a separate port (i.e., not 80) being used for the outlook plugin connection that I have to be aware of?

I don't have control of the server at all so I would want to find if any configuration changes could be done within vtiger on either the outlook side or from within the vTiger web portal.

That would mean that the one particular vTiger server is not configure correctly. Check the config files and compare them to the working vTiger server, also the permission, disk space and etc.

If it still not working, compare the database and source of that particular server to the working server.

I agree, the server isn't configured right, but as I don't have any control over the server (its at a hosting company that I moved to from siteground), I am seeking to find out what things I could ask them to tell me, such as do they have a port blocked that vtiger needs to use for outlook, soap, etc.

Steve, send your hosting company the installation manual. It contains all information about the required server configuration.
