WHAT

vtigerstudio is a framework for vtiger CRM developers. It's main purpose is to help developers deal with a number of tasks - quite common in or vtiger CRM pre-production environments - in a faster and more comfortable way.
vtigerstudio offers a nice, web-based, frontend to:
tune vtiger tables (swap module fields inside and among blocks, create new module blocks, swap modules related lists);
translate system strings (anyone remembers the Language Pack Wizard?);
do some basic database administration (dump, restore, reset)
...

WHEN & WHY

vtigerstudio was primarly coded by Tullio (tbezzor@tin.it) for his personal use – he created a tool which could help him, as a vtiger CRM developer, with some of his most common tasks. Recently, Alex (alexander.fortin@gmail.com) and Carlo (carloz@gnumerica.org) added internationalization and a new look&feel.

vtigerstudio is now offered to the wide vtiger CRM community with the hope that:
it can be of some help to other developers
someone can provide any smart feedback
new features can be integrated


vtiger CRM 5.1 will come with a nice and pretty useful Layout Editor, available to administrators via the Settings interface. Vtigerstudio does in part the same job – and it works on vtiger CRM 5.0.x
