I'm not sure if this is expected behavior or not but when I use the Thunderbird Plugin to add an email with an attachment to vTiger, the message gets added fine but the attachment is not there. Is this how it's supposed to work? Following are the steps:
- Open Thunderbird
- Select a message with an attachment to be added to vTiger
- Click the "Add to vtiger CRM" button
- Click the "Search" button and presumably an address will show up that applies
- Click the address and then click the "Add to vtiger CRM" button on the dialog.
A "success" message comes back but when I view the message there is no attachment on it. |

| I am experiancing exactly the same issue.... plus when using webmail, the attachments aren't added either? I will have to download the attachment and the attache it manually under attachements and notes but then how am I suppose to relate the relavent attachments to the appropiate emails? |

Got the same problem. Any solutions available? If it is not possible, can you explain me why?

I just reviewed the code in the plugin and vtiger 4.2.2:
in contactserialize.php there exists a soap method "upload_emailattachment" - but it is not used by the thunderbird plugin. The plugin uses only "track_email" by now.
Did anyone already implement the missing calls? ..or is there a possible showstopper in thunderbirds attachment-handling?
Cheers,
Timo |

| I see the same problem as well, its a big hassle to find the attachments in the attachment directory and add them by hand. |

Trying to bring this Post up again. I really need a solution for this. Or just the information if this is kind of a bug or just an adjustment thing.

Does anyone know of any any progress on this one?
vTiger is generally great but its email handling leaves alot to be desired at present. I note that email handling is going to be revamped in version 5.1 but still no projected release date. Should we be waiting for this or is the problem in the current version being sorted? |

Another one looking for an answer here.
It would be great to have the attachment still with the email, though an alternative of adding the attachments to Attachments against the contact would be great too.
Anything really to keep the attachments |
