I am running vTiger v5.03 and the latest version of the Office plugin. I receive the error message 'vTiger CRM Cannot Download Document Template' when attempting to merge a document. I have read all of the topics related to this subject and based on this, have tried adjusting the 'vTiger URL' field in the Word vTiger CRM 'Configuration' window as follows:

vTiger URL: http://(my_website.com)/vtigercrm/
as well as http://(my_IP_address)

Both settings allow me to login to vTiger through Word, but I still cannot merge a document. Can anyone help?

Hi qiao,

Please try mail merge on IE (using Firefox) might not work.

The problem can appear even you use IE. In fact in the name of your template you must avoid special letters (é, è,....).
Change the name of your doc and your problem will be solved.

Thanks for your feedback - I tried using IE and changing the file name to 'test' (I saved it as a .doc) and it produces an error message. I pasted the error message on the enclosed Word doc. Any thoughts?

A part of the problem is due to your IE configuration (security level), because you did allow activex. Check litterature and there is a lot of items in the forum about this problem

I solve the problem, it depend of this line in the file root/config.inc.php
$site_URL = 'site Url';

You have to check that the url is good.

But this does not solve the bloqued activex.
