I created a template in WORD and imported it.
From LEADS, I then merged a number of leads into the template. That went fine.
I printed and went on to next merge I needed to do.
I did the same steps with DIFFERENT leads, merged, and WORD produced the document using the PREVIOUS leads, not the new ones. It was a NEW document, just had the OLD leads merged. ????

How does that happen???

Hi rcarter ,

I think this will help you to fix the issue.
We are having a ActiveX component in our product to facilitate the Mail Merge Templates. To enable us to install this component & run it on your browser the following Internet Security options must be set in Microsoft Internet Explorer web browsers.
Once this is done, when you perform the template merge operation, the browser would seek your permission to run & install our ActiveX component. If you give the permission to do so, the control would then be downloaded and installed on your computer.

Do the following for Microsoft Internet Explorer :-
Choose Tools->Internet Options menu item
In the dialog box click the "Security" Tab. On that Property Page click "Custom Level"

Step1 : Select - Enable - "Download signed ActiveX controls"
Step2 : Select - Enable - "Download unsigned ActiveX controls"
Step3 : Select - Prompt - "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe"(This will promt you each time you perform Merge operation)
You can enable this so that the browser will not prompt you for downloading activeXs
Step4 : Select - Enable - "Run ActiveX controls & plug-ins
Step5 : Select - Enable - "Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting" Press OK to save changes.

Please feel free to contact us with your questions & concern if any.

Ok, "check for new version with every visit" seams to work - but it is a workaround not a solution for me.

The other thing that I dont understand is that the remplate for Account is used / outputed once for each contact!!!

So - account with one contact has one address label.
Account with three contacts has three address labels
Account with no contacts has one label.

How to prevent merge for each contact? I'M PRINTING LABEL FOR ACCOUNT AND NOT FOR CONTACTS.

The other thing is more related to Word itself - when I want to close the generated label, I get info: This file is in use by another application or user

Select OK (only option) and Save As dialog appears
Select Cancel and Close again.
Dialog appears: Changes have beed made that affect the global tempalet, Normal.dot. Do you want to save those changes?
Select NO...pfffff Word finally exits...

The problem is caused by another Word instance or Outlook running - when the merge template is the only open Word it will just ask if you want to save and than exits.

Any Ideas on how to prevent the modification of "Normal.dot"?

Thanks,
Mike
