Just a note for anyone that might be attempting to install vtiger 5.0.3 on a Windows Vista PC. If you attempt the installation without any special settings, it will fail at about 35%. I was able to run the installation successfully by using the "Program Compatibility Wizard" and choosing the "Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" Mode. Hope this helps somebody. Drove me nuts for a bit.

Hi
Was able to install successfully some time ago. However, I am not able to have the installation create a database. The installation proceeds to FINISH but the database is not created and hence I am not able to run. Were you successful? If so, I would appreciate any guidance you can give me.

Once I did the install using the compatibility wizard, everything went like it was supposed to. I don't know if it matters but I didn't have any of the required software previously installed (Apache, Mysql, PHP) on my system prior to the install. I let the install configure all of those programs with default values and it all went smooth. Did you try the compatibility wizard install? Did you already have MySQL installed before your vtiger install attempt? Just curious.

Hi
I have installed and uninstalled it about 6-8 times! SO I do not know if this is the problem.
With the compatibality setting, the installation proceeds to completion but the final database is not created. So in the log files, the entry stops before the database is written.
It also takes a very long time to finish the database installation phase.

What about Event Viewer in windows? Are there any entries in there that would help figure out what is going on? Also, did you have MySQL installed prior to the vtiger installation for another purpose that may be interfering with this install?

Running Vist Business tried installing in compatability mode and get error that "can not connect to database" I was having the same issue running it without compatability mode as long as I 'Ran as Administrator" and not jusy click install. It seems to me that MySQL is not finding a open port?? This is sothing I am not really familiar with ( changing to a open port) any suggestions???
