Sorry to be so negative in my subject. I have been trying to get the tax function to work with a Quote, (at some time I would need to do invoicing, but that will come). I need to get a simple tax computation against my product, have it in a separate line somewhere on the PDF and entered into a field in the vtiger_quotes. The Vtiger_quotes table in 5.02 had a field "tax" and the same table in 5.03 doesn't. I thought I needed to find a way to just get the information on the PDF and it would appear in the field "tax" so I could total it up later to pay the government. Now I see that I have to do that and create a field and then get it into the PDF. I have held off using Vtiger in our office for this issue for a long time. I thought this would be in this issue. To me this should be a no brainer. If anyone is experiencing this and got it resolved, please let me know what you did, if you would please, I am going nuts here.

Hi Ed,

I would expect this column in the invoice, not the quotes. you probably pay tax from sales, not from quotes=intended sales.
Don't have the DB on this PC, so I can't verify, but maybe you find the tax column in the invoice table

I didn't look in the invoice table, but I still need to show the customer the tax they are going to pay. It would have to be passed to the invoicing anyway wouldn't it?

Well, after looking in the invoice tables, I find that 5.02 has a salestax field and 5.03 doesn't. So, There must not be any tracking of taxes. If someone can explain this to me I would appreciate it. After all this time I may have to abandon VT, this is a show stopper. I realize VT isn't an accounting program, but some simple stuff like this should be included. Just my opinion.
