I have some data that I need to import into a custom text field of existing contacts. Can anyone offer any help?

Thanks in advance.

James, did you read the manual? There is an entire chapter with instructions, hints and tips. You may also try the Excel Import tool available at http://vtigerforge.fosslabs.com/projects/excelimptool/

Thanks for the response.

I read the manual and I've already imported a load of contacts with success.

However, I have some data from elsewhere that I need to merge into their account details.

So for example, contact John Smith (already in vTiger) needs to have payment details note '06-06-2007 - CC - £16' added to their record.

I have a table of around a thousand records that needs to be added into the existing contacts in vtiger.

The excel tool seems to be for formatting the csv files that excel saves.

To sum up, rather than needing to know how to add John Smith to vTiger, I need to know how to add some text to one of the custom notes in his record in vTiger. For 1000 records.

Thanks James.
