Hi vTigers,

I'm looking to import a database of magazine subscribers/members and am considering different ways of managing their subscriptions on vTiger.

Among other considerations, I am thinking of classing each issue of the magazine as a product (it's a quarterly magazine) and adding 4 magazines to each new subscriber in the products section.

Whether this is an efficient way to manage subscriptions I still have to think about, but I have another issue. How can I import my existing subscribers with magazines/products in their contact details. I don't wish to go through and add them manually.

James, for detailed import instructions please look at the users and administration manual. There is an entire section describing how to build a well formed import file. You may also use the Tool available at http://vtigerforge.fosslabs.com/projects/excelimptool/

Does this import tool allow you to specify that member x should have vTiger products x, y and z (depending on date x) upon import?

I know how to import contact details, but I'm not sure whether I can do this.
