Hi guys,

Good to see the 5.0.3 forum on the board, the rest should follow shortly.

I have been playing with the svn version of 5.0.3 on a Centos 5 machine and made it work (almost).

I still have a couple of issues:

-The strange one is that I can see every module apart of Accounts which appear blank, the top menu is display but no module content... I believe it could be a problem with my svn version, but wanted to verify by asking if anybody had the same issue.

-The second one which I guess is more Centos 5 related, is about the Dash board which doesn't display properly, throwing an error:

Warning: Require_once (PEAR.php)[function.require-once]:failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/html/vTiger5.0.3/Image/Graph.php on line 34

When installing the different missing extensions needed for PHP, I had difficulties to find the gd2.. And in some forum found out that gd library for Centos included gd2 (yum install php-gd). But I also believe that the Dashboard is related with gd2 library so may be that problem comes from gd library.

Anybody any guess?

Regards,
Clem

Hi Krem,

Have a flick through the pdf I posted in this thread:
http://forums.vtiger.com/viewtopic.php?t=14496&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

I think the issue may be in the file and folder rights (page 5), or that you didn't run yum update after installing CentOS.

Regards,

Nigel

Thanks Nigel,

Your documentation looks very good, I will have a look to it and keep you updated on my findings.

In the mean time, it would be great for the community if this doc is added to the wiki.. Even organizing the 5.0.3 wiki by Operating systems / General, could be great to structure a little bit more the general community ressources.

Do you mind if I add it to the Wiki?

Regards,
Clem

That's it, I reinstalled a fresh copy of vTiger 5.0.3 and followed your instructions... A couple of problems but not hard ones, and now everything is working fine.

Thanks again Nigel.

This tutorial is very good, but a couple of times small things are missing like chmod 777 for logs/, Webmail/attachments.

Tell me if you would agree to share this doc on the wiki so we could evolve it together.

Regards,
Clem

Hi Clem,

Thanks for the appreciation!
I had picked up on the typo regarding ,mismatch between wget downloading version 5.02 and attempting to install 5.03rc2.

I tried to install 5.03 yesterday and have modified the doument accordingly and added the logs and webmail directories to the chmod command.

I have sent you editable version as PM and you are welcome to use the document as you wish.

I was thinking that the next stage could be to add optional stages for adding phpMyadmin and Webmin to the installation, but I guess you can just keep going with these things!

Hi,

I added your Centos5 installation doc in the wiki:
http://wiki.vtiger.com/index.php/Vtiger_CRM_5.0.3_-_Installation_Manual

I agree, the next step is to add phpmyadmin webmin to the document. Let's evolve the doc!

I added a new topic about migrating db from 4.2.3 to 5.0.3:
http://forums.vtiger.com/viewtopic.php?t=14822

Have a look.

What do you think about trying to add to centos 5 a php-accelerator package? It could be useful to place the procedure in the wiki.

I tried a while ago to add an accelerator but was blocked because of some version issue, I will have a look again soon.

Clem

Hi,

I have now added a section for phpMyAdmin installation, as well as tidying up a few errors and ommissions.

http://wiki.vtiger.com/index.php/Vtiger_CRM_5.0.3_-_Installation_Manual_for_Centos_5

I will get to Webmin soon

Hi,

Just added phpinfo and Webmin to the how to.

Also cleaned it up a bit more and added link to the reporting issue post.

Hi Nigel,

I just finished following your complete tutorial and so far it is really accurate (just 2 or 3 mistakes in the writting that I corrected).

I have only one problem, it concerns the domain name, I followed your instructions and named my intranet domain centos.mydomain.local in setup and /etc/hosts file but I can only access my server through the ip... Have you got any idea what could be the problem?

Thanks anyway, I am sure many people will appreciate your contribution.
Now it's time for me to install horde!

Regards,
Clem
