Hi,
We are trying to adapt vtiger to a publisher management. We sell our products, but we also "borrow" our books to bookstores. THey keep our books there to see if they can sell it. If they do they renew the "borrowing" (and the borrowing becomes a sale) or they return the books they didnt sell.
This way we needed to keep track to the stocks of our products available on each store.
We guess this happenes to a lot more products than books.
Generally this also can be made as if different "storehouses" would be available.
Good work on this CRM

Hello,
Thanks for your interest in vtiger CRM.
Could you please send me your workflow document so that I will be in a position to suggest you a better way of implementation?
My email ID: gopals at vtiger dot com.
Thanks,

HI,
i'll be posting here in case it can help other ppl.
We are a university Publisher. We publish books made by our teachers, but we also sell them.
For the sales to bookstores, i'm starting to use vtiger, and it seems everything will work fine.
But there is an other way that we use to sell our books.
Description:
Each Bookstore (our main clients...can be "accounts") can buy us books (sales) or borrow from us (i dont know a better word equivalent in english)
When they borrow they keep our books in their stores for a limited time (that is defined for each publisher). We let them keep the books for 6 months. SO there should be a reminder associated to the transaction.
At the due date they can: return the books they have, and pay for the ones they sold (not returned) or they can renew the transaction (and the transaction becomes a regular sale, and we begin a new "borrowing" transaction for another 6 months).
Example:
We send 5 Books Y to Bookstore X in this type of transaction. During this 6 months they can ask us to send 3 more (because they sold 3 already, and this is a general sale). At the end of the period we contact them (needed a reminder here) and ask them how many books are they returning? the books returned get into the stock again and the ones that were not returned become sold.
But the books that are out this way shouldnt be in Products stock, they should be in the "client" stock so we could know where are the books...
I hope i did explain you well (which i doubt...english is not my mother language ;) )
Thanks in advance
