Hi,

Something a lot of CRM's forget is that customers can be individuals and not just companies. My company provides services to individual clients ('contacts'), we're not a B2B.

The problem with vtiger is that it revolves around Accounts! We want to be able to have leads, contacts, quotes, invoices etc.. but have these linked to a contact not an account. By having this current dependency on an account we have to introduce accounts and company names when we're just dealing with individual clients.

Can you please consider having some sort of option to treat contacts as a full fledged client ? At the moment most options try to link to account / company.

If you do this it opens up the CRM to more easily be used by service providers to the public like law firms, retail outlets, clinics etc...

A bit of background....Ive just started using vtiger in my company. We previously used ACT 6. Over the last months it's been straining to cope with the volume of data and we're starting getting corruptions when data is synchronised between each desktop's database. We tried the trial for ACT 2007 and it was awful - slow (slower than Act 6) and extremely memory intensive. So now we're using vtiger and it's zooming along.

Hi All, I am new to vtiger and have only just started using the product, having decided to move from Act as we are expanding our business. We are in the Real Estate & Tourism market. I read Jamesh message and agree with his point. Not every contact has a company and being forced to enter something is not sensible. Does anyone know of a way to make this field (COMPANY) optional? Also has anyone got any experience of creating GROUPS in vTiger. I found this feature very useful in Act for identifying my Partners, Competition and Clients with different needs - i.e Owners selling property v customers buying property - They are both still customers in my mind. Any help greatly appeciated.

I would agree with this analysis. Looking for other possibilities now that GoldMine (FrontRange) has changed their marketing model. Contacts are all we deal with in our non-profit world!
