If I send a message to a lead from thunderbird, it would obviously be nice to add it to vtiger,
BUT .... when you do a search, (apart from the previously reported bug of defaulting to the From address) it won't locate any name that is a CONTACT rather than a LEAD.
I checked in Vtiger's web interface, and you can add emails there (or rather you could if the built in email client worked :-) so I don't see why the API is only searching in Contacts.
