As a part of the 5.0.3 development we have fixed most of the email related issues reported by our community. In addition to that have fixed close to 65+ bugs sofar, few more will be added to the list before 5.0.3 comes out.

Check out for the list of fixed bugs @ http://vtiger.fosslabs.com/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/query?status=closed&milestone=5.0.3&order=priority

As we wished to have the community feedback periodically we are updating bleeding edge demo @ http://en.vtiger.com/wip

If you prefer testing it in our own setup, do checkout the source from the svn using the following command

svn co http://vtiger.fosslabs.com/svn/vtiger/vtigercrm/tags/vtigercrm-5.0.3-val

Post only the error/exception in trac, by selecting the version as “5.0.3-dev” and milestone set to “5.0.3″, this will help us to fix it before 5.0.3 release.

For trac access contact gopals at vtiger dot com

The trac url is http://vtiger.fosslabs.com/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/report

Philip,

Thanks for the update.

Is there a way for those of us who are on shared hosting, don't have SSH/command line access, and/or don't know SVN to do any testing.

IOW, is there a dev demo server that we can try and report issues against?

Sorry if this is known in the Community, but I don't know it.

Thanks,
Ken

Ken,
vtiger installed a bleeding edge demo system at http://en.vtiger.com/wip

Great.

It looks like email server configuration could still be made easier.

I took a crack at setting the outbound server, and failed...my mail server is mail.{mydomain}.com

There should be some documentation or help onscreen- "email account is usually username+domain.com" or similar.

The failure results appear to always say "Check server name" even if the problem is with the username or password.

It would be nice to have this set up so that the wip system actually works, and can be tested, but I understand the potential for abuse.

Thanks,
Ken

A working email sync. function is very important to me. Any idea when 5.0.3 will be officially released (1 week, 1 month, 3 months, ...) ?

Thanks
David.

Unfortunately, this is the first email version for which I do not get the incoming mail server to work. Not at my own installation and not at http://en.vtiger.com/wip

There seems to be a problem with privileges. Non admin users are not allowed to change the incoming email server settings. SSL is not working with an AOL account (which operates over port 993).

Any review of code, help or guidance would be appreciated.
