Hi All,

I have said in a previous post that I believe the email system contained in vTiger is sub-par. I would like to see a fully functional email client built in to tiger. There are plenty of open source apps out there but I don't know what will or will not be a good fit but I do know that the present system is not an enterprise class system. Its a shame since vTiger in all other aspects kicks ass.

I would like to start the bounty off by pledging $500 towards this. I would ask any members of the community who feel the same way to also add to the bounty even if its 10 or 20 bucks.

So please, if this interests you, place your comments and your bounty whatever they may be.

I would like to see Round Cube Mail http://www.roundcube.net/ integrated into vtiger on two levels.

1. An external client with addons to post emails into vtiger as per the outlook addon so that you can use just a lightwieght email client to quickly check your email and if need be post email to vtigercrm

2. Integrated into vtiger as per the current email system

both of the above would use the same base so that you are not using two seperate email systems but rather two different ways of viewing the same data.

Allowing more flexability with how you interact with the system. Also as round cube uses mysql it could be sync'd locally for offline use.

I will add $100 to the bounty if someone was to take up this project

BTW, I agree with you, we need a solid and fonctionnal mail system.
Mails (outgoing and incoming) *must* be attach to contacts/accounts as events (with attachements).
We surely need this tool for marketing object, that is to say bulk email should be possible with a "back-track" to know if mails where opened, if link where visited (by making a link with objects on a web site and giving a personnal ID in the links or pictures in the mails), with tracking of prospect's action in their history.
In the same way, we could make some mailing-lists that contacts could join/unjoin easily and get trace of it (event : suscribe to ML xxxx).

Totally agree with you RV, i can understand some of you run bounty's to have new feature, but for the core product, i think the best way is to sponsor vtiger Team.

I also agree and I'm not opposed to donating to vTiger but I still want to make sure its done and done in a timely manner. Things of this magnitude have a habbit of getting caught up in politics and discussion after discussion. I just want to see it done now as opposed to later. Whatever we build will not be perfect out of the barn but it will be a damn sight better than what we currently have!

If in fact vTiger is going to do this for v5.1 then perhaps they could reply to this post and give us there take and timeframe on it?

Round Cube looks very interesting. I would be up for that.

i agree with ipa, this would be e killer-feature and as the vt-team has much work with bugfixing already, a seperate team working on this bounty would increase the speed - also this feature could be integrated later on in the standard-package by the vtiger-team, without the hussle of finding the right os-app, implementing it or deciding how to implement it.

i would donate 20-100 € for this.

I would like to add one more thing in the hopes that the tiger team will read this. I know there is no love lost between tiger and sugar but look at this post on the sugar forums;

People are hoping mad about this issue where it relates to crm. Just think of the coup tiger could have if they releasesd an integrated email system like Roundcube into the vtiger app and also released a sugar export script along with it...

Do you think that this is an opportunity? I'd be willing to bet that the first horse out of this gate would be the front runner for a long time to come.

C'mon Tiger team. Use the community and use the opportunity to kick ass!!!

I am a current user of Round Cube.

I would also be willing to throw some funds toward the integration of Round Cube in vtiger. Add my $100 to the pot.

So, what does that make it? ~$700 total....?

PS: I don't mind sponsoring the VTiger Team... but my first question is can my money be ear-marked for the email system? IE, I would not want my pledge for an email system to be used elsewhere on the project. If that makes sense.

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know whether this is being worked on for the upcoming release; or is this still up in the air?

If this is still up in the air then I don't mind to chip in to have a full featured webmail fully integrated with vTiger. I can chip in between $20 - $200 CAD depending on which webmail; to what extend does it integrate with vTiger; and last but not least what webmail features are working at the time of delivery.

On the other hand if the vTiger team is already working on this then my contribution will be donated to the project once I have seen the final product.

Can anybody drop me a line or two RE the status? Thanks.
