Hi,
I'd like a little help from this community. I've been using vtiger for a few weeks now and it looks promising, but I have a few questions.
Let me give you the scenario. I subscribe to a data service that provides me with a list of several thousand leads. I reformat this data to a CSV and import the leads into vtiger. The first question I have is, let's say next month I import another list from this data service, is there any way I can prevent duplicates from getting into vtiger?
Is there a script that I can run to filter out duplicates in vtiger?

A related question, I know that leads are deleted after they have been converted to Contact/Account. Is there any way that I can prevent a second import from importing leads that have already been converted? That's kind of hard to swallow!!!, let me illustrate with an example...
I import a contact called Jack (amongst several thousand other leads) on my first import from the data service. One of the sales people makes a phonecall to Jack and he's interested in our product, so the sales person converts Jack to a Contact/Account. Jack is deleted from leads. One month later, we get another list from the data service. Jack (the same person) is buried among another couple of thousand leads. I import Jack in the new batch. Is there any check made, since Jack is now a lead again and he shouldnt be since he's a Contact/Account and has been deleted from Leads. I dont want another sales person to contact him as a lead, since we're already dealing with Jack in a Potential capacity.

Hi mmcelarn,

Currently there is no dedup function in vTiger. There is a bounty for this feature btw.

Also, when converting a lead to contact, I don't think it actually deletes the record, just hides it.
