Hello everyone

I hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I have just installed vtiger with patch 2. I have entered the correct mail server name (mail.mydomain.com) yet each time I try to send a email. I get the following message.

"Please Check the Mail Server Name..." I really don't know what to make of it I've been going though the forum and it seems that simular issues were solve with patch 2. I have uninstall and reinstall serval times now with out success.

Dear omaricon,

This error will occur when the vtiger could not be connected to the specified mail server. To test whether your mail server can be accessible or not by ping your-mail-server. If you can ping your mail server then there will be no problem in connecting your mail server through the vtiger.
please let us contact for further informations.
Thanks & Regards
Mickie

I solved the problem by using the ip address of my mail server instead of mail.mydomain.com

I am also still having this problem. I have tried the following:

ping my mail server at mail.mydomain.com and received reply.
set auth to false with no username and pwd.
use mail server IP instead of domain.
edit config file to fill in mail server info.
my "Settings -> Outgoing mail server" is filled in properly.
my "List Mail Servers" is also filled in.

Any further help would be greatly appreciated as I am completely "stuck" at the moment.

Thank you
