I'm using 4.2 GA and I've recently added a tracking option for the Product module.
I'm attaching the patch file in case anyone finds it useful.
I find it very useful to have the ability to track the history of a product in terms of Contact/Account routing. The code adds a line in the Description field for every change made to Contact/Account fields documenting the time, user and old and new values for Contact/Account.
I didn't see such functionality in the new release (5). I'm not sure if the patch will work on that release also. |

| Btw, the patch will only work on distinct "Product Name" values |
